mad props to the tully center
Written by patty on July 31st, 2008I’ve had an ear thing for a few days now. After maybe 30 minutes of fitful sleep, I awoke last night with the distinct impression that someone was goring a pickaxe into my brain. Repeatedly.
Did you know that Aleve does nothing to dull that particular sensation?
Not anxious to sit among the infirm at my doctor’s office for half the day, I played Waiting Room Roulette at the Tully Center’s urgent care facility. The doors parted, I walked in, and BEHOLD! I was the only patient. I consider myself an aficionado of the local ERs and urgent care facilities (two children under the age of eight and a lifetime of klutziness will do that to a girl), and never have I seen a completely empty waiting room.
It’s impressive to pack the following into 45 minutes: registration, co-pay, vitals with nurse’s assistant, interview with nurse, physical exam by physician’s assistant, confirmation of diagnosis by a cute-as-a-button resident who told me to live a little and try three Advil, prescriptions and full discharge papers, including the names and numbers of 4 different ENTs for follow-up care.
My one thumbs-down is for Tully’s pharmacy; how can you possibly not be in-network with CIGNA? I’ll stick with Phil at Siladi’s. Sorry for straying, buddy.
Now that my son and I are both hopped up on the antibiotics, I’ve coded our dosage charts by our respective conditions:
Thank you, Tully Center. Thank you. Thank you for not making fun of my ridiculously small Eustachian tubes. Thank you for sending me on my way toot-sweet. And thank you for dislodging the pickaxe from my brain.

I also like Tully. Been there twice, both went great. All staff was nice. Hope the ear is doing well!
