i voted today

It’s odd to vote and not get the sticker.

(And that guy? Who sued because the sticker ruined his suede jacket? Not only is he a local - the drama unfolded at my very own polling place. And with that, you’ve fulfilled your quota of Patty trivia for the day).

With great hope and a dash of worry for my children (really for us all), I colored between the lines and sent out my silent prayer for Barack Obama. For Joe Biden. For the partners they will choose to help them run our country. For Jim Himes.

Really for us all.

I also voted a big, fat NO on revising the Connecticut constitution.  You local types who believe in the keep-government-out-of-my-bedroom (and for heaven’s sake, my UTERUS), equal-rights-for-all, leave-me-the-hell-alone, Nutmeg-style zeitgeist: I’m counting on you to do the same.

As for that war criminal Christopher Shays?  I let my labradoodle answer your robo-calls. She doesn’t trust you either.

I voted this past Saturday, offering up the same prayer. I definitely missed getting the sticker.

I voted last week, and yes, it WAS anticlimactic not getting a sticker. Wifester and I both looked at each other, made our best pouty faces, and said in harmony, “Where’s my sticker?” Oh well, at least we voted and as far as could be seen, there was not flipping of votes, you know, we had to use those ole’ untrustworthy diebold machines that are causing so much trouble. Yay for labradoodle! She’s not a apathetic - undecided, sounds like she has strong convictions.
