i’m not dead yet

Written by patty on April 15th, 2009

“You haven’t updated your blog in a loooooong time,” she tells me during her check-in phone call. “I worry.”

I’m fine. Silent-ish but ok.

I survived Easter, the first big holiday since my mom died. I survived almost losing all months and months of data when my work hard drive crashed; the last time I backed up was the day before my mom went into the hospital. It’s a story with a good ending; thanks to crushed-up unicorn horns, pixie dust and the sacrifice of a new hire (hey, we’re all scaling back these days), tech support cracked the code on my hard drive after three days of trying. They recovered almost everything. I think I’ll survive the odd weakness and achiness that’s taunted me for the past five days; I caught it from my kid.

I made a mean cassoulet yesterday. I want to make an Ikea run. Lucky Brand stopped making my favorite jeans. I still have pink eye. My domino subscription has been replaced with Glamour, and I’m ai’ight with that. I’m liking Danny Gokey in Idol this year even though Adam is clearly more talented, and I thought last week’s Ben-centric LOST episode was a bit disappointing.

Not much of a post, I know. But I’m not dead yet.

And thanks, Cheryl, for checking up on me.

Danny rocks. So you you for pushing forward and just noticing the usual normal everyday things in life. Lucky Brand’s decision didn’t send you over the edge, so you know all is well…

Hang in there sista, the weather is getting better…
Glad to hear about the hard drive.
I actually liked the Lost episode, altho the Sayid-centric tend to be my faves. He’s a great character.
Last year, Big Star jeans stopped making my fave model.
And, since I’m not sure I’ve said it, and if I have anyway, I’m sorry for the loss of your Mom.

Thank you. I’m still buying Levi’s Style 515 fit me best. I used to get them at Costco but they have screwed up sizes. Maybe that’s why they only cost $20 there. I now buy them at Tractor Supply. Yes, you heard me right, Tractor Supply. If there is not one in Stamford you can always make a trip north. Love you and it really is okay to just be alright.
